I. Introduction:
The X45W four-way plug valve (lifting plug valve) comes in various structural forms. According to the sealing surface materials, lifting plug valves are divided into two types: soft-sealed and hard-sealed. Its basic principle is that when opening, the plug rises, and then rotates 90 degrees to the fully open position, which reduces the friction with the valve body sealing surface; when closing, the plug rotates 90 degrees to the closed position and then descends to contact the valve body sealing surface to achieve sealing. Soft-sealed plug valves are commonly used in harsh environments such as corrosive, highly toxic, and high-hazard media, in occasions requiring strict leakage prevention, and in scenarios where the valve material will not contaminate the medium. The valve body of the X45W four-way plug valve can be made of carbon steel, alloy steel, or stainless steel according to the working medium. Three-way and four-way plug valves are suitable for occasions where the medium flow direction needs to be changed or the medium needs to be distributed in Shanghai Gong's devices. According to the requirements of the working conditions, soft-sealed sleeves or soft-sealed, hard-sealed lifting plug valves can be selected.
II. Selection Principles:
1. For occasions of medium distribution and medium flow direction change, where the working temperature is not higher than 300℃, nominal pressure PN≤1.6MPa, and nominal diameter not larger than 300mm, it is recommended to use a multi-way plug valve.
2. For equipment and pipelines in food enterprises such as milk, juice, beer, and pharmaceutical factories, it is recommended to use an austenitic stainless steel tight-fitting conical plug valve.
3. For oil field exploitation, natural gas field exploitation, branch pipelines for pipeline transportation, refining and cleaning equipment, where the nominal pressure class is not larger than Class300 and the nominal diameter is not larger than 300mm, it is recommended to use an oil-lubricated conical plug valve.
4. For oil field exploitation, natural gas exploitation, branch pipelines for pipeline transportation, refining and cleaning equipment, where the nominal pressure class is not larger than Class7500, the nominal diameter is not larger than 900mm, and the working temperature is not higher than 340℃, it is recommended to use an oil-lubricated conical plug valve.
5. In large chemical industries, in pipelines and equipment containing corrosive media, and in occasions requiring fast opening or closing, for nitric acid-based media, a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) sleeve-sealed conical plug valve can be selected; for acetic acid-based media, a Crl8Nil2M02Ti stainless steel conical plug valve with a PTFE insert sleeve seal can be selected.
6. In pipelines and equipment of gas, natural gas, and HVAC systems, where the nominal diameter is not larger than 200mm, a packed conical plug valve is suitable.
III. Installation:
1. Ensure the valve is in the open position. First, heat the pipeline. Transfer as much heat as possible from the pipeline to the plug valve. Avoid prolonging the heating time of the plug valve itself.
2. Use gauze or a wire brush to clean the pipeline and cutting parts to make their metal surfaces bright. It is not recommended to use steel wool.
3. Cut the pipeline vertically first, then trim, remove burrs, and measure the pipe diameter.
4. Apply flux on the outside of the pipeline and the inside of the welding cover. The flux must completely cover the welding surface. Use the flux moderately.
